If you are like me, you have been through Prairie City countless times without really noticing it. Don’t be like me.
Prairie City is a small gem in eastern Oregon. So quiet and peaceful, great restaurants, a good park for the dog and, if you look closely, there are tiny memorial plaques at the foot of the trees lining the main street. There’s even one over the motorcycle store.
But the crown jewel of this historic town is the Hotel Prairie. It’s been completely refurbished and no detail was too small in that process. Comfortable, clean and quiet, even the sheets smelled good. Nicely done.
Don’t stay in John Day. As you explore this part of the state, push on that extra 15 minutes and stay at the Hotel Prairie. You won’t regret it.
